ktvu kraig debro has new information from the university. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, pam. this took place at tenth and san fernando in a parking garage. you won't be able to tell right now it's on the fifth floor so up near the top. i walked up there to see what is going on. there is a patrol car. a san jose state university patrol car and a silver tarp on the ground covering what the officer told me was a bio hazard. there is a lot going on. san jose tweeting saying they will have counselors on hand. the garage will be opened as planned today. this happened around 8:30 last night. according to what we know from san jose state police as well as witnesses, multiple shots were fired. two people died at scene. a third person was transferred to a local hospital. it's -- it's not clear who those people are. they tole me that san jose police are now in charge of the investigation. the state university system released this police department does not have operatable or homicide investigations that are capable looking into this. we talk

ktvu's tara moriarty joins us live from mt. diablo to show us what fire crews are doing now to get the fire completely under control. tara? >> reporter: we're close to the summit. crews have been schedule offing hot spots trying to make sure none of the flames re-ignite in the wind. if we take a look over here, you can see how it looks like no-man's-land and this tree, half of it was spared but the other half completely charred. over there, you can actually see where the fire stopped. right now, calfire is at 70% containment and hopes to have everything fully under control by friday. at 8:00 this morning, hundreds of firefighters left base camp in dublin and headed for the mountains. there are nearly 1400 firefighters. many will be released today, however. calfire has lowered the number as acreage burned 3,133 acres. it's lifted evacuation orders for dozens of families out of their homes. >> what our focus will be, keep it in the box. we have it pretty much contained, but it's not out. there's still a lot of interior burning go
